TRAUMA SEMINARS IN TANZANIA
Since 2018 Iphiko has been holding pastor and trauma seminars in various areas of Tanzania, ranging from Kigoma, near the Burundi border, to the Morogoro region to Dar es Salaam and various other locations too numerous to list.
The demand for trauma seminars is overwhelmingly high. Predominantly the contacts are theology graduates from BBM and received initial counselling skills training from Margrite while there. Now that they have returned to their sending churches, or indeed founded new church communities in new outlying areas, these pastors are encountering traumas which often they struggle to address and help heal.
Margrite has been offering follow-up seminars to groups of pastors to strengthen their ability to provide meaningful counselling and guidance to those in their care. Through these seminars there are many testimonies of healing amongst both pastors and their congregations, with the unearthing of deep traumas that have remained buried for years but have caused much ongoing pain.

Visits to Tanzania usually require Margrite to travel huge distances between venues, often using public transport which is both uncomfortable and hazardous. Buses designed to carry just half a dozen people are often carry twice or three times more, along with all their luggage held precariously on the roof! And then of course, there's always the breakdowns and tyre punctures which require some very patient waiting.
